Throwback Politician Photos Show a Different Side to These Well-Known Pols

John Lewis

John Lewis is a member of the House of Representatives from the 5th District of Georgia. He is considered one of the most active civil rights leaders of our time. Here is a terrific picture of him in the White House in 1963, posing with President John F. Kennedy and standing right behind Martin Luther King Jr. It’s an amazing snapshot of civil rights leaders who have shaped the country. Today, Rep. Lewis is still one of the most active members of Congress, having been reelected every two years after first winning a seat in 1987.
