Surprisingly, chewing gum is heavily regulated in Singapore, after being outright banned for several years. The ban went into effect because of the high costs of scraping old gum off of public surfaces. If you’re not prescribed nicotine gum, getting caught chewing gum in public can land you a $700 fine.
