Baked Goods with Potassium Bromate

Potassium bromate is an ingredient often added to such baked goods as bread and muffins. The ingredient has been linked to gastrointestinal discomfort, thyroid problems, cancer, and kidney and nervous system damage. Because of that, it’s banned in the European Union, Canada, and China.
