That’s right: America’s favorite citrus, brightly colored energy drinks and sodas are banned in such countries as Japan and Europe. This is because they contain brominated vegetable oil, which was originally a synthetic chemical flagged as a flame retardant. Additionally, bromine also impacts the central nervous system.
