Record-Breaking Rides: The Tallest Steel Coasters and Biggest Drops

Steel Dragon 2000

The Steel Dragon 2000 has the sixth longest drop and seventh tallest height of all the world’s coasters. This steel roller coaster is located in Nagashima Spa Land in Japan, and cost $52 million U.S. dollars to construct! The ride was closed for three years after an incident in 2003 when a cart malfunction caused two park visitors to be seriously injured. Since its re-opening in 2006, Steel Dragon 2000 has remained a favorite tourist destination and force to be reckoned with in the roller coaster world.
