Chickens Are Not Lovin’ It
In 2009, members of PETA wore chicken costumes in protest outside the NBC television studios in Los Angeles. The chicken group waved signs at passing motorists during the taping of The Jay Leno Show to protest McDonald’s ads that were screened on the program.
PETA has an ongoing campaign for McDonald’s to adopt more humane bird slaughter methods. The new slaughter regulations won’t take effect until 2024 and will apply to only 70% of McDonald’s chicken suppliers, according to PETA.org.
