Westland, MI Police Officer Joshua Scaglione

LaVonte Dell, 28, was driving with his 3-year-old daughter — not in a car seat — when Westland, MI police officer Joshua Scaglione pulled him over for having tinted windows on his car. However, rather than issuing a ticket, Scalglione took Dell to Walmart and bought him a car seat. It was pink, his daughter’s favorite color, and had butterflies on it.
“I figured it’d be better to help him out and just raise more awareness about car safety rather than give him a ticket that would dig him deeper in a hole and make things worse for him,” said Scaglione.
