The Warren Commission

Almost immediately after President John F. Kennedy was assassinated, newly sworn in President Lyndon B. Johnson signed this executive order to establish the Warren Commission to investigate the assassination.
On the surface, this executive order seemed like a great idea. After all, the American people wanted to investigate the assassination of President Kennedy. However, the Warren Commission proved to be controversial. The Warren Commission concluded that Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone, but many skeptics have challenged the findings.
Some conspiracy theorists say that there was a cover-up of some kind. However, all of the documents relating to the Commission were declassified in the 1990s, proving that there was no doubt as to Oswald’s guilt, and that the Commission was mostly meant to ease suspicions among Americans.
