There’s no doubt about it, Hooters restaurants changed the industry. With short shorts and low cut shirts that reveal a young waitress’s midriff, few restaurants embrace beer and boobs quite the way that Hooters has. That said, the last decade hasn’t been kind to Hooters.

The restaurant chain has closed many restaurants in the 2010s as their sales stagnate. There is some thought that its sales model isn’t quite connecting with younger demographics, and the chain is reacting by opening a new restaurant concept called Hoots that features more modestly dressed waitresses.
