Chipotle

One of the most sure-fire ways that a restaurant chain can close is to have one food scare, and Chipotle has had several in recent years, including an E-coli outbreak. Dozens of of customers were infected, and the outbreak became a national news story, much to the chain’s embarrassment.
In the aftermath of the outbreak, Chipotle continues to struggle since it lost much of its customer base. It is working on new food options as well as high-tech ways to make ordering and delivery easier, but the fact is that people are not willing to take the risk of getting sick by eating there.
