In Pennsylvania, this snow-covered jet sits in retirement. It was built as a long-range bomber escort back in 1957, but eventually became a nuclear-armed fighter-bomber.

After years of service, most of them had run their course by the 1970s and 80s. In 1957, it became the fastest aircraft in the world when it reached an airspeed of 1,207 miles per hour.
