Sweet Tomatoes and Soulplantation

Sweet Tomatoes and its sister restaurant Souplantation filed for bankruptcy protection in 2016. As a result of its bankruptcy, the restaurant chain was sold to a private investment firm in 2017.

Since the bankruptcy proceedings, there are fewer than 100 restaurant locations across the United States. The restaurant’s leadership team cites a whole host of reasons for the financial problems, including lower sales, higher operational costs, and state minimum wage requirements in the states where they have stores.
