Applebee’s has struggled to find a new core demographic as millennial customers continue to make up a larger share of the potential customer base.
The company underwent millions of dollars in renovations and menu changes in an attempt to attract millennial customers. This hasn’t seemed to work, which the Applebee’s leadership team seems to acknowledge. Applebee’s has tried to return to the preferences of its original Baby Boomer demographic and continues to close restaurant locations each year.
