Everyday Items You Have NASA to Thank for

Baby Formula

There is plenty of scientific research to back up the notion that a mother’s breast milk is critically important for her child. It simply contains certain elements that a produced material is not able to replicate. However, there are times when baby formula is necessary.

But did you ever wonder where baby formula comes from? Or what in the world it actually is, other than a milk-like substitute?

During the 1980s, NASA wanted to identify ways of providing nutrients to astronauts during long trips into space. Naturally, keeping fresh food on hand isn’t a viable option, so NASA developed the product that eventually turned into baby formula. Its fatty acids are excellent for developing the mental and visual health of an infant.
