People really do have it good these days, don’t they? Back in the day, if you wanted to correct the alignment of your teeth you had thick and uncomfortable wiring running from tooth to tooth.

Invisalign and other brands of clear corrective alignment options are made of material designed by NASA. In fact, NASA created the product (“translucent polycrystalline alumina”) as a material to insulate the infrared antennas used on heat-seeking missiles.

So yes, the material people now use to correct their teeth originally was used on objects designed to blow up just about anything.
