A lovely, half—painted 1995 Carpenter school bus was theirs. This 40-footer was all kinds of rough on the inside, but it had really good bones. When it comes to purchasing their skoolies, most people get standard-sized school buses to make over, but this blue beauty dwarfed those by nearly half.
In order to be registered as RVs (recreational vehicles), skoolies need to be modified to be brought up to code. What modifications have to be made depends on the state they’re registered in, but for the most part, conversion rules include tasks like taking out the seats, painting over the school bus’s yellow color, installing electrical and plumbing systems, and putting in insulation and flooring.
