Everything’s Bigger in Texas

There are more Dairy Queens in Texas – over 600, according to the company – than any other U.S. state. In fact, there are so many DQ franchises in Texas that the Texas Dairy Queen Operators’ Council (or TDQOC, a group composed of the state’s DQ franchise owners) has its own advertising and marketing website, separate from the national chain.

In addition, many DQ stores in Texas feature Texas Country Foods menus. They feature regional favorites including chicken-fried steak sandwiches, steak finger country baskets, T-Brand tacos, and a half-pound double-meat hamburger known as the “BeltBuster.”
